DarsGo - Distance based toll

How do I pay for the DarsGo?

Prepaid:

  • Sales point top-Up: You can add credit (min. €10 / max. €1,000) at any DarsGo Servis point (gas stations, border points) using cash, credit/debit cards, or fuel cards.
  • Online top-up: You can also add credit via the DarsGo web portal using a credit card or bank transfer.

The OBU (DarsGo device) will beep to warn you if your balance is running low. If your balance hits zero, the device will emit a long acoustic signal (a loud beep). If you do not top up at the next possible sales point and pass through 2 DarsGo checkpoints without paying you are in violation and subject to heavy fines.

Postpaid:

  • Via fuel card: You can link your DarsGo account directly to a recognized fuel card (e.g., DKV, UTA, Shell, OMV, Petrol). The tolls are simply added to your monthly fuel invoice.
  • Direct Contract with DARS: Larger companies can sign a contract directly with DARS to receive a monthly invoice for all fleet movements.

All roads marked with A (Motorways) or H (Expressways) require the use of DarsGo, including:

  • A1: Šentilj (AT border) – Maribor – Ljubljana – Postojna – Koper.
  • A2: Karawanken Tunnel (AT border) – Ljubljana – Novo Mesto – Obrežje (HR border).
  • A3: Divača – Fernetiči (IT border).
  • A4: Maribor – Gruškovje (HR border).
  • A5: Maribor – Murska Sobota – Pince (HU border).
  • All H-Expressways: Including the H3 (Ljubljana ring), H4 (Vipava Valley), and H7 (near Hungary).
