Do I receive a refund, if I take my vehicle off the Slovenian roads and return the number plates?

Yes, if your vehicle it taken off the street permanently, you might be able to request a refund under certain conditions:

  • Yearly vignettes only (weekly/ monthly vignettes are NOT eligible)
  • Vehicle has been deregistered in the last registered country
  • Refund must be requested within 30 days of removing from the register
  • Provide official proof from your home country's motor vehicle registry (e.g., DVLA in the UK, ADAC/Zulassungsstelle in Germany) showing the car has been scrapped, sold abroad, or permanently taken off the road
  • Provide certified translations if documents are NOT english or slovenian
  • Refund is proportional (e.g. yearly vignette used 6 month = 50% refund minus service fee)
  • Provide the e-vignette ID number (from your receipt)
  • Provide  your IBAN/bank details for the transfer
